When I first started this Blog I did not know how much I would like doing it, or how often I would post. I initially went crazy and posted up 10 or so posts a day to get at much content as possible on the Blog. Since then I have averaged out to around 2 posts a week, which seems to be manageable for me with family, work, and modeling.... Thanks to all for your words of encouragement, and positive support. More to come.
Got my five latest Nurgle additions primered up and ready for paint. I went with my new standard of using both black and white primers. I am really happy with how these turned out, especially considering I only had one pair of legs, and some regular space marine bits. Everything else was constructed from Tyranid, Daemon, and green stuff. Almost 300 points from left over bits and a few hours of work!

Blogger's Best is my ongoing series featuring the work of the most inspiring modelers and painters that I have come across recently, in order to share their work with others and to help support the individual blogs and artists. Personally much inspiration has been obtained from the daily hunts sifting through the blogs, and I felt obligated to pay a little homage in return.

James Wappel Miniature Painting displays the one of the best painted Eldar vehicles I have seen in a while and the custom energy sculpting looks great to boot. If that wasn't enough he also posted his fantastic Lucius the Eternal, which demonstrated his blending talents.

Rafa Coll Blog is just down right amazing, with his violinist diorama that shows some truly skilled work. Sets a higher standard for any miniature artist.

Modern Sythesist has a custom squad of Dark Eldar Wracks that truly needs to be seen. A lot of intricate work has gone into these.

White Metal Games has a innovative take on the Canoptek Wraiths mid phase coming in and out of the scenery bases. Really looking forward to seeing these painted and finished... like I'm one to talk, I have a hard time finishing most projects.

misterjustin.com really has weathering down to a science. I need to revisit this piece the next time I am painting any armored vehicle. Seriously man you have some great talent.

Bestienmeister is working on some award winning painting. The shading and blending is a work of art. Love to see the finished product.
The newest addition to the Nurgle forces, my Plague Marine Champion with Power Fist. Still not having any extra legs in my bits box, I am forced to get a little creative with the lower half. I decided to go with something a bit more mechanical and added three robotic blade legs, with a fourth hoofed foot.
Here are the latest additions to my Plague Marines. I didn't really have any legs left in my bitz box, so I looked at it as a challenge and a way to make something from left over bits and pieces. The look does fair well with the rest of my army, especially with my Great Unclean one and my Plague Spawn.

Another lack of bits that posed a problem, was having no Meltas. Since I already had some Plasmas modeled up, I wanted to add a couple flamers. (fingers crossed for poison flamers in new codex).

I used primarily old Tyranid parts combined with a few left over arms and green stuff to combine the look. A little dremmel drill weathering and some sand for rust, and all finished up. This puts my plague Marines up to 14 total for 2 squads of 7, including 2 champs and 4 special weapons. Hope you like them...
Here is my new Nurgle Sorcerer Lord with Plasma Pistol. The majority of this model was made from left over Tyranid bits and a few Space Marine bits.
We are up to 316 members actively running in the W.I.P. blogrolls. I
have had to split them up into 3 sections, organized alphabetically,
due to Blogger issues when you get 100+, things start to act a bit
strange. Each section will feature the latest 25 posts, for a total of
75 updates from the Blogroll featured on the front page.
I may need to further split this into 4 or 5 sections as the Blogroll grows to make sure they are actively updating correctly.
Here is the latest update on my Nurgle Defiler / Soul Grinder model. I went

started with a black wash, followed by a green wash, dark green wash,
brown wash, and back to a black wash.
Also started up a new Nurgle Sorcerer and 4 additional Plague Marines to give me two full squads of seven. Updates coming soon...
Blogger's Best is my ongoing series featuring the work of the most
inspiring
modelers and painters that I have come across recently, in order to share
their work with others and to help support the individual blogs and
artists.
Personally much inspiration has been obtained from the daily hunts sifting through
the blogs, and I felt obligated to pay a little homage in return.

This Blogger's Best may be a bit short on links, but that is only due to the fact that one person... eh hem (The Back 40K) created so much disgusting, they deserved to have four of their pics put up.
Here is the latest update on my Great Unclean One / Ku'Gath / Greater Daemon model. I went through a series of 4 washes on top of my high/low black/white primer. I started with a black wash, followed by a green wash, dark, green wash, brown wash, and back to a black wash.

I believe the colors are a bit washed out, maybe due to the lighting or
bulb choice. The actual model appears to be much greener than these pictures depict. I am still trying to get my lighting and backdrop
perfected. I have been adding a bit more color to the back drop and
have added a second light source for these shots.
Here are the early work in progress pics of my five Goff Nob Bikers. Due to a shortage of wheels I decided to go for a snowmobile style front end, coupled with a triple barrel dakkagun replacement for the Deffkopta rokkits. I wanted the Painboy to stand out and have room for the Grot orderly so I decided for more of a swamp boat style bike with a side compartment for the Grot.

I still need to beef up the exhaust and add on the wargear... thinking about two power klaws, one or two big choppas, cybork, eavy armor, and some combi weapons.
This is the first of a new series covering the most creative and original conversions for a particular model. My goal from these series is to provide readers with several conversion concepts to give some inspiring ideas on the many different directions you can take in modeling.

Today we will be covering Chaos Spawns. Due to their particularly inspiring fluff it seemed like an easy pick.

On a recent post covering my latest Plague Spawn update, I asked for users to submit their own creations. While the response was somewhat limited, the quality was top notch. To help fill out the rest of the article I had go searching for a few additional entries. Hope these inspire.

Well, that it is for first Ideal-Ideas. Hopefully this will bring a wide variety of inspirational ideas to all. Send in more spawn pics if you got them, maybe I can do a follow up article as well. Next month will cover Obliterators, so keep the submission coming...
I am writing up a new series called Ideal-Ideas featuring a large collection of converted miniatures for a specific model. Looking for Obliterators, so send me your links, pics, or good intentions and I will be featuring them soon.

These articles should help to show a wide variety of modeling and converting ideas to help inspire some creative thinking.

Here is the latest update on my Nurgle Obliterators. The modeling is all finished, and added the last bit of dremmel drill weathering and sand for the final touches. They are now ready for primer. Can' wait to start dipping these in paint with the rest of the Nurgle forces I have been working on.
All the final touches were completed on my Nurgle Defiler / Soul Grinder. The last bit of weathering and sand were applied to the model in order to give it that nice disgusting look. Also new to this update is the completed lower mouth section. I really feel this helps out the overall look of the model as well as helping to add a bit of putrid girth to the lower half.
I will begin the dipping process this week, along with the rest of my Nurgle models so will hopefully have some actual painting updates coming soon...
So the modeling portion is finally finished and the primer has been applied. I went with a different technique this time and tried a base coat of black, followed by a coat of white, which was mostly done from the top to provide a more natural lighting and shading effect. Time will tell, and once the washes start going on I should be able see the cause and effect.

I only did a bit more weathering, base work, and sculpting the on the front two feet since my last update, but over all am happy with the final result.
Here is a group shot of my Current Nurgle Army. As it stands I have around a 1000+ point that is not quite functional but definitely playable. On the first row from left to right we have a Defiler, Rhino, Summoned Greater Daemon, Daemon Prince. Second row starts off with 3 Plague Spawn, 10 Plague Marines, and 2 Obliterators.
Here is the latest update to my Nurlge Defiler / Soul Grinder. I was not completely happy with the height and overall lankiness of the model, so I decided to chop much of the legs off in order to achieve something a bit more stumpy and dynamically posed. You can see the original post here

I added quite a bit of overall dremmel drill weathering and sand to help scum it up a bit, and have been working on adding a bit more girth to the body. On the back of the model I added several melted plastic tubes surrounded by green stuff to cement it in place.

I plan on adding a second mouth to the front of the model as well as a belly that is drooping to the ground. estimated completion of model as shown is around 70%. Updates to come...
So my Slaanesh Terminators are nearing completion. I have ran through my series of light blue, dark blue, pink, and black washes to achieve my general color. Overall I am very happy with this effect and didn't require any drybrushing or fine detail work. The basic approach was to dip in pink and tip it on its side to dry, then dip in blue and tip it on the opposite side to dry, then dip in black and let it dry standing upright. Once complete, I will detail with a Silver/chrome for the weapons, and flesh and bone for other bits.

For their load out, I wanted to stay fairly cheap due to the extra cost of the Mark of Slaanesh, so I equipped them as follows: Twin Lightning Claws, Power Fist/Heavy Flamer, Power Weapon/Combi-melta (x2). I am debating about changing the Power Fist to a Chain Fist, but just not sure? Any opinions would be appreciated on that. Of course with the new Codex coming out, I am hesitant on doing to much with my CSM army at the moment.

These are the early beginnings of my all Slaneesh army, and will join my Slaanesh Daemon Prince, Noise Marines, and Slaanesh Dreadnought. Updates to come...
