Scenery Terrain - Painting Sandstone Test #1
Here is the latest painting update, a test run at painting sandstone. Over all I was not completely happy with the results, but figure I would document them so I would not make the same mistakes again....(see below)....
Apply complete coat of DC AC Flesh
Use heavy wash of DC Brown Iron Oxide
Heavy dry brush of DC AC Flesh
Light dry brush of DC White

...note to self: step 2 could use a lighter shade of brown, step 3 went on too wet.

Scenery Terrain - Hill with destroyed Chimera
Here is some more unfinished scenery/terrain. A wooden cutout started the base of this with sand glued to a card board structure. The tank was twisted and torn apart with pliers and wire cutters, and has been painted to a decent level for scenery. The red sand color hill still needs to be finished to match my other projects.

Scenery Terrain - Plateau with Bunker
This was made from a plastic serving tray that was borrowed from my local pizza parlor. I cut out an oblong shape in the middle for the bunker, and walled it in with plasticard. I used some cardboard to build up the outer edges so it did not resemble the typical rectangle tray. Once I was happy with the over shape I covered it in glue and sand. Another free'ish scenery project.
Scenery Terrain - Scratch Built 3 Story Ruin
This piece of scenery is completely scratch built. The basic structure is made out of random plastic bits and sprues, spotted with capacitors and rubble. All the rumble is made from sprues clipped into small pieces and then thrown into the blender for a few minutes. The base is thin plywood covered in sand and rock. This model started as a small wall, and slowly morphed into the large building it is now. Measurements are approximately 12" x 12" x 8".
